On the
Wooded Path
home of the wandering paths of earth-centered living and deep remembrance
The stream of sunlight just after dawn comes dancing through the branches of sweet birch, hemlock and red maple trees, gracefully casting shadows as the day slowly begins and all possibility of the new day is alive and yearning. Bare feet, feeling the moistened cool earth, eyes gazing up as the wind rustles the leaves above. Eyes wide, mind relaxed, ears attentive and heart open to what lies ahead on the journey down the wooded path....
All are welcome who
-
yearn to work with their hands
-
gather wild materials in heart-centered ways
-
treasure exploration
-
desire creativity and value learning through 'mistakes'
-
who crave the slowness to learn the songs of the birds and their behaviors
Moving on the wooded path is a wander through life guided by the cyclical and seasonal nature of existence, met with play, reverence, patience and curiosity.

The land in which we steward, forage, grow food, work and reside is in the Finger Lakes region of NY, located on the unceded territory of the Hodinöhsö:ni’ Confederacy, specifically the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ Nation. The dispossession of the indigenous people from their land has a long history which continues to this day and includes genocide, forced cultural assimilation, broken treaties and denied land claims. We recognize a responsibility to learn about this history while also educating newer generations about how to live in good relation to the earth. We honor the deep knowledge of the people of the Hodinöhsö:ni’ Confederacy and support their ongoing efforts at cultural preservation, land and seed rematriation.
